How often do you get to totally disconnect and relax?
For many of us, it's not often. Which is why it's so important to spend our sacred down-time really de-stressing, relaxing, and not worrying about our diabetes for just a moment.
As the experts in comfortable sleep, and a brand that is passionate about lounging comfortably, here's what we recommend to fully embrace your lounge time.
Managing Your Glucose Monitor
The time you spend relaxing, should be just that - relaxing. This can be hard to do if you don't have clothing to accomodate your insulin pump or glucose monitor.
Some people tuck their insulin pumps in their bras, others wear a small running belt or tight shorts. But who wants to wear those things while they're trying to relax?
If you have diabetes, and you want to lounge or sleep more comfortably, we highly suggest trying our men's or women's pajamas. They come with slits in each of their 10 pockets so you can manage your glucose monitor and tubing, or keep your phone close while you relax.
Preventing Highs and Lows
If you're in the middle of your favorite TV show, or snuggled into a good book, the last thing you want to do is get up and get yourself a snack to level out your blood sugars.
We suggest two things:
Try JoyDays, delicious cookies that have a low glycemic impact. They'll satisfy your cravings while not spiking your blood sugar.
Put JoyDays, or your snack of choice into your MBK PJ pockets so no matter where you are lounging, you can stay comfortable.
Choosing Comfortable Clothing
We recommend always choosing comfortable clothing - rather it's a new pair of jeans or the pajamas you can't wait to put on at the end of the day.
Of course, we recommend MBK PJs because they're made with premium breathable pima cotton. We even took the extra step to manufacture these PJs in the US so we could keep a tight eye on quality.
What is your favorite way to destress or relax? If you're tired of scrolling through Netflix to find a new show, here are some of our suggestions:
Listen to a new podcast with your favorite cup of tea
Try a mindfulness exercise before you go to sleep. We love using the app "Headspace"
Instead of writing a to-do list, write a "did" list for all you accomplished this week. (You'll be surprised how much this helps to relax!)
Call a friend, even if it's just to leave a friendly voicemail
Light a candle and journal
Read that book on the shelf that you're afraid might be getting dusty...
